Abortion Procedures (718) 429-8777

No parental nor spousal consent is required to have an abortion. There are no age restrictions.

The day of your appointment you will have a urine pregnancy test. You will fill out a short medical form. We will go over a consent form and review your options and concerns.

You will have a blood test to check for RH factor typing. If you know your blood type and have a blood donor card, bring it with you and you might not need the blood test. If your blood is RH factor negative you might need a Rhogam medicine as well at an additional charge. You will have an exam and ultrasound by the physician to check the length of the pregnancy.

We are a private medical practice dedicated to surgical and non-surgical abortions.

This procedure is a gentle suction (aspiration) with a sterile thin plastic tube connected to a suctioning device. It is done under anesthesia with ultrasound guidance (sonogram) and it is completed in a few minutes. After a short recovery you may go home and resume normal activities.

The Abortion Pill:

This is an option if the pregnancy is less than 9 weeks. The RU 486 (mifeprex) is the pill that blocks the progesterone receptors in the lining of the uterus and the misoprostol (cytotec) is a prostaglandin analog. Both medicines are being used for this method. The pill has been used by millions of women worldwide over the past 25 years.

A Sonogram:

Will be done by the physician to determine the gestational age accurately before any procedure is done.
